Nate Butki is the Vice President of Learning, Media and Technology at Root Inc. Butki is an experienced HR leader with expertise in strategy execution, workplace culture transformation and organizational performance.  Nate champions our learning, media and technology teams at Root.

Prior to Root, Nate worked at Great Place to Work® Institute, producers of Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list, where he spent over four years playing a critical role on the executive leadership team.  As interim head of US business, Butki supported a team responsible for delivering world-class workplace culture consulting to a portfolio of more than 225 clients. During his tenure, he helped develop and implement a high-growth talent strategy, secured the organization’s largest global client and supported three clients who achieved recognition as World’s Best Multinational Workplaces.

Nate also worked for more than a decade at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services where he initiated and implemented an integrated approach to Talent Management across Human Resource functions and led regional and global implementation of workplace culture assessment and improvement.

Nate gained early career experience supporting technology integration in classrooms statewide through the Michigan Department of Education.  This experience instilled a strong commitment to public education.  Nate was elected to the Lake Orion Community Schools Board of Education in 2016.

His academic and career interests stand on three pillars – technology (MA, Telecommunication), business principles (MBA, Finance) and human performance (SPHR). His work in Information Technology, the Office of the CEO and Human Resources provided a strong platform to drive organization-wide culture change resulting in sustained business performance and culture transformation.
